Feeding the Locals

There is a place just of Hwy 97 outside of Bend Oregon where you are encouraged to feed the locals.

Crescent Moon Alpaca Ranch is located Terrebonne, an unincorporated community in Deschutes County, directly off of hwy 97.

The ranch has 18 acres of hay and another 24 acres of pastures under the trees and around the barns and home, scattered with cute fluffy alpacas.

The on-site boutique shop sells amazing alpaca items from socks to blankets to yarn, but most important you can purchase a $2.50 bag off pellets to feed the alpacas. It’s the most fun you will have for the price of a small coffee.

They have made an easy walkable loop around the pastures where you can get up close and personal with the Alpacas. Trust me, they know you have food and aren’t shy about letting you know they want some.

This is a family friendly place and feeding takes less than an hour… so next time you find yourself in eastern oregon stop by and feed some of the local “wild” animals.

Crescent Moon Ranch is located 1/2 hour north of Bend

7566 N Hwy 97, Terrebonne, Oregon 97760. 541-923-2285.

Ranch Visiting Hours: 10:00am to 4:pm seven days a week
