Let me tell you about the best place to go in the little town of Dundee, Oregon. Red Hills Market is a (not so) hidden gem located in the middle of Oregon’s popular wine country.
My friend got me hooked on this place after taking me there for one of their monthly Thursday night tap takeovers.
What’s is a tap takeover? It’s a once a month party where a brewery/vineyard takes over the taps. It’s a fun Thursday night filled with samples from the guest brewer, live music, lawn games and delicious food being grilled outside. What makes this place so amazing to me besides their special events is they have everything you thought you didn’t need in your life, but now can’t live without.
You want breakfast? They have it. I’m still working off my go-to ham and cheese croissant – warmed up in their pizza oven and served hot. Need a delicious lunch? They have that too. Their menu is filled with artisanal sandwiches, quiche and soups to warm you soul. The roast beef on fresh ciabatta is sooo good.
You can’t go a day without dinner. They have you covered with weekly dinner specials like smoked lamb, gumbo or try one of their wood-fired pizzas.
Yes the market even has a section filled with merchandise you can purchase. Bottles of wine, tees, hats, coffee cups…. everything you may or may not need is available.
Charcuterie to go? Yes I said that. My friend bought this for her daughter. Red Hills puts it in a beautiful wood box, ready to take to the vineyard of your choice. Make sure you pre-order.
If you find yourself in the Portland, Oregon area and you want to get away from the noise of the city take a little drive west into Dundee. I promise it’s worth it.
